Newcastle employment rates remain tight in lead up to Christmas

MONTHLY employment rates in the Hunter region remain tight in the lead up to Christmas, according to the latest data from the Australia Bureau of Statistics

In Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, the monthly unemployment rate continues to display volatility, leaping from 1.8 percent in October to 3.6 percent in November, whilst in the Hunter Valley, the figure fell from four percent in October to 3.2 percent.
