Newcastle could be without some of their key players for the trip to Liverpool this week.
The Reds go into the game against Newcastle on the back of a record-equalling 9-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend. It was a first victory in the Premier League this term for Jurgen Klopp’s side, after only two points were amassed from the first three fixtures.
Liverpool are back at Anfield on Wednesday night, as they face a Newcastle side who were last in action on Sunday. The Magpies were held to a 1-1 draw with Wolves at Molineux.

Following that game, it seems that Newcastle could be without some key players for the clash at Anfield. Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are all doubts for the match, while there is another more serious injury.
Guimaraes was scheduled to be involved for the clash against Wolves, but was withdrawn shortly before kick-off due to an injury. Howe later confirmed that the midfielder won’t be fit in time to face Liverpool.
“He has a slight niggle and I don’t think it’s anything serious,” Howe told The Chronicle . “We hope he won’t miss too much. Liverpool might be too soon.”
Wilson suffered a hamstring injury last week, and is still expected to be sidelined for the near future. After the draw at Wolves, Howe said the injury was “not too bad”, but says he will not feature against Liverpool.
Saint-Maximin scored Newcastle’s only goal in the draw at Wolves, but he was withdrawn with what appeared to be a slight knock. It remains to be seen at this stage whether the issue is enough to keep the forward out of the match against Liverpool.
Another player who will definitely be out for the match at Anfield is Emil Krafth. It was confirmed that the defender will be out for several months after suffering an ACL injury last week.
