Eddie Howe has stressed there is 'more to come' from Newcastle United following Sunday's superb 6-1 win against Spurs.
Newcastle put their supposed top four rivals to the sword at St James' Park to move up to third place in the table. Not only did Newcastle open up a six-point lead on Spurs in the process, with a game in hand, the Magpies landed a devastating psychological blow against an already fragile side, which ultimately cost interim boss Cristian Stellini his job.
Newcastle blew Spurs away from literally the first whistle with the intensity they played and the hosts continued to go for the throat after Jacob Murphy's opener after just 61 seconds. Indeed, astonishingly, the scoreboard read Newcastle United 5-0 Spurs after just 21 minutes following further goals from Joelinton, Murphy and a double from Alexander Isak.

Harry Kane pulled one back for Spurs just after half-time, but Howe continued to go in search of more goals and the Newcastle boss threw on Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson midway through the second half. It was Wilson who duly scored Newcastle's sixth as the Magpies recorded their biggest Premier League win since 2011. However, with seven games to go of the season, Howe has no doubt his team can get even better as the black-and-whites bid to qualify for the Champions League.
"You always have to believe that," the Newcastle boss told reporters. "If you're going, 'That's us at our best, there's only one place and that's down.' That was a glimpse, hopefully, of what we are capable of, but you have got to believe there is better and more to come from us."
