Two stops away from a Subway Series, the New York Yankees and the New York Mets have both advanced to their respective league championship series, marking the first time in 24 years that both Big Apple teams have reached the final four in baseball. The Mets secured their spot in the NLCS by defeating Philadelphia, while the Yankees clinched their ALCS berth with a victory on Thursday night.
If both teams manage to secure four more wins, they could potentially face off in the World Series for the second time, with the Yankees having emerged victorious in the 2000 Subway Series against the Mets.
