The New York Giants set an unfortunate record on Sunday afternoon. They entered Week 16’s action with a 2-11 record, having lost every contest that they’ve played since October 6th. And after their ugly performance against the Falcons in Atlanta, they are now on their longest losing streak in franchise history.
The New York Giants Have Now Lost 10 In A Row
The 2024 season has been a tough slog for the Giants. They started 2-3 but have completely collapsed since, and had dropped nine games in a row, a stretch that included the benching and release of starting quarterback Daniel Jones. They’ve been eliminated from contention for weeks, and look as though they are destined for a top-2 pick in the upcoming draft.
The losing streak that they were riding was tied for the longest that they’d ever had. They had lost 9 straight three different times in the past, with the two most recent coming in 2019 and 2004. But there is a new franchise-worst streak on the Giants’ record books, as the team has lost 10 games in a row for the first time ever.

The Jones era came to a merciful end with the quarterback’s release back in November, and the losing streak will likely mark the conclusion of their head coach’s time with the team, as well. Brian Daboll had questionable job security entering the 2024 season, and now has a 17-31-1 overall record in his nearly three full seasons in New York. With the Giants likely having a valuable draft pick that could provide a franchise quarterback, it would be reasonable if they want to couple that player with a brand-new system and regime.
The Giants still have two games to play, though Daboll’s fate has likely been decided already. They will take on the Colts next week in their final home game, and will wrap up their season by taking on the Eagles.
