Powers mentioned that authorities are actively working to apprehend the suspect, especially with the holiday season approaching.

He emphasized the seriousness of the attack, stating that it appeared to be a planned attempt on Thompson's life. Powers revealed that law enforcement officials are utilizing surveillance footage from various locations, including Starbucks and the hotel where the incident occurred, to track down the suspect who fled into Central Park.
