As we get some much needed days off our thoughts often turn to when we will next get a break. With that in mind it’s always a good idea to know when the Bank Holidays are for the next 12 months as usually they’ll be around the school breaks.
It’s also worth remembering that because New Year’s Day falls this year on a Sunday, his means that Monday January 2 is Bank Holiday for it. Unlike Christmas there’s only one bank holiday as New Year’s Eve is a normal working day.
Overall in 2023 there will be an additional Bank Holiday on May 8 for the coronation of King Charles III which is going to “showcase the very best of the United Kingdom”, ministers have promised. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said last week that Buckingham Palace was taking the lead on what is a “significant planning event”.
