Virgin Media TV customers are in for some good news as the popular provider has announced the launch of a brand new service.
The offering is something fierce competitor Sky cannot currently match, with users now able to access Pluto TV from their set-top box. The free streaming service includes a range of unique channels and the opportunity to stream back-to-back episodes of shows such as The Drew Barrymore Show, Baywatch, Come Dine With Me and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
To gain access to the huge variety of shows available, all customers need to do is head to the app section on Virgin TV before choosing to download Pluto TV. Once installed, the service can be launched, unlocking lots of new free shows.
A huge rival to fellow suppliers such as Sky and Amazon Fire TV, the Virgin 360 device gives users access to services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and BBC iPlayer.
The device also includes smart features and voice control, supported by 4k content and HD/HDR displays, reports The Mirror. The service is available for £23 per month.
Speaking about the update David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media said: “Virgin TV brings together fantastic programming and popular apps that we know our customers will love. With Pluto TV now available on Virgin TV 360 and Stream, our customers can tune into even more unmissable entertainment.”
Virgin TV has also made other changes, swapping the position of 80 channels on the telly planner.
The changes, which came into force from midnight on July 4, will see channels such as ITV +1, Discovery HD, MTV and Comedy Central +1 all get new numbers.
The swap will impact all Virgin set boxes including TiVo, V6, TV360 and its Stream device - meant popular general entertainment channels were moved into more prominent numbers on the guide. It also placed +1 channels into a dedicated channel range between 300-399.
