California: A new study shows an unprecedented analysis of oxygen depletion on coral reefs worldwide due to ocean warming. The study, led by scientists at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography of the University of California, San Diego, and a sizable group of national and international colleagues, documents the current state of hypoxia, or low oxygen levels, at 32 different sites and shows that hypoxia is already pervasive on many reefs.
