New site allows drivers to check if Flock cameras tracked their car

• A new website named “Have I Been Flocked” allows drivers to check if their license plate has been looked up using Flock Safety's surveillance network.
• Flock Safety operates more than 120,000 automated cameras across the US, with law enforcement customers in every state except Alaska accessing the data.
• The technology has faced backlash over Fourth Amendment privacy concerns and reports of misuse by officers, including an incident where an officer used the system to stalk someone.
• In response to criticisms, Flock Safety announced it will shorten its default data retention period from 30 days to seven days starting January 1.
• The company is also introducing an audit tool that flags abnormal search behavior and locks out users during internal investigations.
