Signs for a new shop have appeared in Bulwell - and people in the town are curious to learn what it will sell. The Mystery Shop looks set to replace Budget Wise in Commercial Road which closed earlier this year.
It doesn't appear that the new shop has opened. But shoppers hope it will prove popular on a high street which has been hit by a number of store closures in recent times.
Lorry driver Aaron White, 35, said: “It’s good to see a shop open. A new shop is better than no shop. Hopefully they get a good reception. I’ve seen Bulwell change before my eyes and retail-wise it’s got worse so this new shop is a start.”

Retired Jill Bentham, who is 65 and from Bulwell, said: “So long as it’s something people want. I’m not sure what this shop will sell but I know that Budget Wise was very popular with the best staff too.
“If you look all around Bulwell, there are some great shops but there are a lot of places with shutters down too and that’s not what we want.”
Teaching assistant Natalie Willis, who has lived in Bulwell for five years, pledged to pop into the new shop. The 27-year-old said: “Whatever it is, I’ll be going to have a look. You want any business to do well but the problem with Bulwell is it's being taken over by hairdressers, barbers and nail shops. I think it’ll be interesting to see how this shop does as many people loved Budget Wise.”
Boots and the NatWest bank in the town are among some of the stores in the high street to have closed. However, there are hopes a new pet shop will "bring more people to the town".
