A new rock and metal event is set to take over Zanzibar this month.
Metal on Merseyside is a collaborative project between a string of academics and practitioners determined to support and develop heavy metal and hard rock music in Liverpool and beyond. The city is globally renowned for its lasting legacy on the music scene, with many bands forming here and eager to follow in the footsteps of historic hitmakers and legends like The Beatles, Echo and the Bunnymen, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and more.
The new event, Metal on Merseyside, will celebrate with an official launch at Zanzibar on Sunday, August 28 from 7pm. The free celebration will see the Metal on Merseyside network members introduce the project, while detailing their plans in a panel discussion.
