New restaurant and bar planned at former Ottimo site in Beeston

A new bar and restaurant is set to open at the £50m Beeston Square development, in the former home of Ottimo. The unit has stood empty for seven months following the sudden closure of the 150-seater Italian restaurant.

However, a brand new venture will be opening at the site later this year. Full details have yet to be revealed, however, Glass Orchid has made one short announcement to say a menu of world tapas paired with specially selected wines and a bespoke cocktail menu will be served.

"We are happy to announce that we will be opening our doors this autumn," said the people behind the new business, unrelated to the previous owners.

The Beeston Square development is home to the Arc Cinema, The Beeston Social and Rassam's Creamery. Ottimo closed just weeks before Christmas. Workers were told the bombshell news that an investor had pulled out when they turned up for their shift on November 30. The restaurant had been open for just seven months.
