The team behind Peck & Yard, the ‘pan-Asian’ fried chicken spot in Chorlton, are to re-open their restaurant as a ramen restaurant and bar. Called Shogun Ramen and Bar, it’ll serve up hearty bowls of ramen and sushi.
Having revamped the inside of the unit, on Manchester Road, they’ll be throwing the doors open for a soft launch at 5pm this Friday. “Why ramen?” they said on a post to Instagram.
“It was one of the choices we had available before Peck N Yard and with the times we’re in, we thought why not go back to the original idea and give this one last shot, to bring life back to our lovely restaurant. We always loved ramen and we hope you guys will love it too.”

They went on: “It would mean the world to us to see you all come through this weekend.” Friends Ed Cayton and Bovies Chee launched Peck & Yard in 2018, serving up Japanese style panko fried chicken with a wild array of dips and sauces.
They revealed they were shutting the business in an emotional post to their social media channels at the beginning of September. “It’s been tough and we did our best but unfortunately it wasn’t enough,” they said at the time.
“The hardest thing was saying goodbye to our loyal staff members. We just have to go back to the drawing board and come back stronger.
“Thank you to everyone who loved and supported Peck and Yard. It truly has meant the world to us. We’re motivated to come back bigger and stronger.”
