A new Poco Sicilian will open in Leeds this week - and customers can get a free lunch to celebrate.
The Italian street food company has proven popular since opening in Kirkstall Road, Burley, in 2017. Customers love its "delicious" food and after proving a hit, opened a second chain in Otley Road, Headingley.
Now, a third chain will be joining the successful eateries. The news of a third chain opening was announced earlier this year but where it would be and when it would open remained a secret.
Now, owners have revealed that it will open its door for business on Saturday, June 10, in Lands Lane.
A launch party will be hosted on Friday, June 9, and attendees will get a free lunch and prosecco. Announcing the news of the opening, a spokesperson for Poco's said: "Poco Leeds city centre opening party. We have the date, guys. Friday, Jun 9, from 12pm until 2pm (or until we run out of food so you better hurry!) 24a Lands Lane, Leeds city centre, LS1 6LB.
"Come say hi, meet the team, check out our brand new kiosk and enjoy all your Poco favourites on the house. That’s your Friday lunch sorted (we will be serving a cheeky Prosecco too – it’s Friday, after all).
"So guys please find a minute in your busy schedule this Friday lunchtime and come see us in the city centre. And tell your friends about the opening too. We really need all your support."
After the party on Friday, they will open for normal business on Saturday June 10, although opening hours have yet to be confirmed. They say the first week will be a soft opening and have asked people to "bear with them" while they complete the finishing touches.
Poco is known locally as a go-to for a tasty lunchtime treat. On the menu there is a huge selection of pizza slices, including the vegan slice with mushrooms, peppers and copious amounts of spinach, and ham and potato slices to fennel sausage to choose from.
Other items on the menu include lasagne, chicken and salads, and calzone. For dessert there are Italian donuts with creamy icing and a custard middle, cannoli and marzipan shapes.
