A new leak focusing on Sony's PlayStation 5 Pro reveals that the upgraded console has a lot more going for it in the hardware department.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is set to arrive in just a few days and is currently known to have a retail price of $699. Sony has been marketing the upgraded console as having significantly better specs than its base version.

PlayStation 5 Pro Hardware

These hardware improvements include better resolution and framerate through the use of AI upscaling. This is done with the help of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). It also features more powerful CPU and GPU than its predecessor.

The latest leak comes in the form of a new teardown video that shows everything the PlayStation 5 Pro has going for it in terms of hardware. The footage comes from what seems to be a Portuguese console repair shop, according to Tom's Hardware.

The process shows the reveal of the complete internal layout that looks very similar to the PlayStation 5 Slim version of the console. Other people also noted that the similarities suggest the faceplates would be compatible with the upgraded console.

Another leak comes in the form of a post on social media that appears to show the exact hardware specifications of the PlayStation 5 Pro. This was in courtesy of X user @videotechuk_ who had previously shared leaks related to Rockstar Games.

The alleged official document shows that the upgraded console has 2G of DDR5 RAM on top of the 16GB GDDR6 RAM. The PlayStation 5 also seems to sport a 45% faster GPU compared to the base console, The Shortcut said.

Significant Improvements Over Its Predecessor

The significantly powered up hardware of the new console could make 8K PS5 Pro games, Ps5 ray-tracking games, and PS5 120fps games the standard when it launches.

The console's 2GB of additional RAM could become a significantly useful upgrade for video game developers.

This is because it could lead to a better gaming experience on the PlayStation 5 Pro for players in the long run. Many people believe that the extra 2GB of RAM will be focused on providing for the operating system and PlayStation DualSense controller overhead.

On top of the general hardware specification improvements, the teardown video also showed that Sony's PlayStation 5 Pro console received major repairability improvements. This grants easier access to the unit's CMOS battery.

This lets users much more easily swap it out and make sure that the upgraded console will still function normally in the event that the original battery runs its course or becomes defective, according to WCCFTech.
