There's a new Palworld update out, and it's a doozy for rebalancing and quality-of-life tweaks. There are quite a lot of changes, but two topline alterations in particular have players elated.
First, you have a substantial drop in the level required to build over water. The Aquatic Construction Kit now only requires you to be at level 23, rather than level 66. That's a hefty drop that opens up possibilities much earlier in the game than previously.
It just needs one Ancient Technology Point instead of four, and the materials are different as well. In general, this will encourage more experimentation with base-building, since some found the prior requirements discouraging.
"By the time I unlocked the ability to build on water I had no desire to start a new fresh base," one player says on Reddit. "That late in the unlock most people have already set up their base they are going to use through end game so it was likely going largely unused," another points out.
On top of this, World Tree Holy Water's been buffed in several ways. It now lasts longer, which is good for a start; then it weighs 10% of what it used to, going from one to 0.1. But potentially the most useful change is that it now comes as a reward for World Tree expeditions and fishing, and in the Large Fishing Pond.
Finally, more passive accumulation, rather than having to use a farming trick to try and gather it. The community has had to make use of various tedious ways to grow the amount of holy water they need, since it's essential for certain late-game items. "The various boosts to World Tree Holy Water are awesome," A Redditor comments. "Adding it as a World Tree expedition reward is massive."
It seems like Pocketpair is looking to really nail down the overall Palworld experience, now that the game is in 1.0. The patch notes contain plenty more changes, including numerous fixes and such. It's a good time to be collecting Pals.
