Netflix is known for its true crime original series that get people hooked.

From Tiger King to the Tinder Swindler they are masters of the genre but their latest show has been branded ‘disturbing as hell’ by viewers.

Their polygamist leader and central character of the show, Warren Jeffs is currently serving a lifetime prison sentence for child sexual assault.

The series follows his disturbing rise to power where he convinced his followers that he was a ‘prophet’ and forced them to obey his strict rules.

Women were made to pray on the hour every hour and all members were completely forbidden from going to or knowing anything about the outside world.

Not only this, Jeffs had a reported total of 78 wives with whom he fathered many, many children.

Disturbingly 24 of his 78 wives were underage girls.

As one FLDS wife explained in the documentary’s trailer: the group believes that “the more wives, the more children you have, the higher in heaven you’ll be.”

In 2008, federal authorities raided the infamous West Texas’ Yearning for Zion Ranch.

Over 400 children were also taken into custody, with law enforcement agents finding evidence of sexual, physical, and psychological abuse.

The series may have only just dropped on the 8 June but people can’t stop watching.

One viewer took to Twitter to write: “this new documentary “keep sweet, pray and obey” on netflix is insane. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; religion is a cult and the root of all evil.”

Another individual shared similar sentiments writing: “true crime and cult documentaries are my guilty pleasure but this new ‘Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey’ doc on Netflix is disturbing as hell.”
