New mock draft has Cardinals taking WR after Packers take WR

The NFL draft will be affected once again with a trade. The Green Bay Packers agreed to trade receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for their first and second-round draft picks.

As a result, the Packers will make one of their two first-round picks immediately before the Cardinals, who have the 23rd overall.

The Packers now also have a clear need at receiver.

Will that change things for the Cardinals with their selection?

In a new mock draft from Draft Wire managing editor Luke Easterling, the Packers select a receiver with the 22nd overall pick they received from the Raiders, but the Cardinals still select one as well.

In this post-Davante Adams trade mock, the Cardinals land Ohio State receive Chris Olave.

Olave has been projected to the Cardinals in other mock drafts. He brings speed and playmaking skills. He would be able to slide in as a Day 1 starter in three-receiver sets.

The Packers land Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks before the Cardinals.

In this mock draft, still available were Michigan pass rusher David Ojabo and Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam. Plus, injured Alabama receiver Jameson Williams is still on the board at that point.

Essentially, the Packers’ pick doesn’t end up affecting the Cardinals’ selection much.

The pick that perhaps affects the Cardinals’ plans more is the Patriots landing Boston College guard Zion Johnson 21st overall.
