The opening date for a huge new B&M store in Kilmarnock has been announced.
The discount retailer has taken charge of three shop units to make one giant store in the town.
Work has been underway at the Glencairn Retail Park superstore since June this year with blueprints initially unveiled in February 2022.
B&M already have a sizeable store in Kilmarnock at Queen's Drive Retail Park.
A sign in the existing store reveals that the new megastore will open on February 4 next year.
The sign also states that the retailer is recruiting both full and part-time staff for the new store. Workers with garden centre experience are also being recruited.
Proposals were previously approved to combine the three shops to make one giant store.
Poundstretcher was the only occupied unit with both Brantano Footwear and DW Sport already closed.
But Poundstretcher was closed earlier this year and work is now nearing completion to form what could be one of the town's biggest shops.
Poundstretcher did open a town centre store in Fowlds Street in April last year. Bosses at the discount chain assured customers at the time that the Glencairn Retail Park store wouldn't close.
The new unit is set to sell food and non-food items and the service yard at the rear changed to form a garden centre.
The entrance to the shop would be via the ex DW Sports doors with the Pound Stretcher and Brantano entries being transformed into fire exits.
The mega unit will sit alongside Dunelm, Poundland, Food Warehouse, TK Maxx, Halfords and Greggs.
Anyone that wants to apply for a position at the new store can hand in their CV to the B&M store at the Queen's Drive Retail Park.
