Sandals or flip-flops are usually the best footwear choice when you're sweating in the sunshine, but sometimes even a summer outfit calls for a sturdy pair of trainers. Perhaps the weather forecast is looking ominous, or you've got a long walk to factor in.
Maybe you're off to a festival and can't risk stepping foot into the Portaloo wearing something flimsy. Whatever the reason for wanting them, a comfy pair of trainers that match a myriad of outfits can by hard to come by.
High street fashion fans say they've tracked down a "chic and comfy" option in New Look, however, which apparently look just as good with summer dresses as they do with a pair of jeans. The trainers currently have 25 per cent off, slashing the price to £17.24 down from £22.99.

One shopper wrote in the reviews section: "These trainers with a gold trim are great they look more expensive than they were. I wear them with my dresses and they look soo good. The material is soft and the gold trim looks nice setting the style off."
Another customer commented: "Most comfortable shoes I’ve ever bought. Totally worth the money and a absolute bargain for the style and pure comfort. Very happy."
A third agreed: "Comfy chic trainers and great value . Feels like I'm walking on air." "Very comfy trainers! Look fab with jeans, trousers and dresses," added another.
New Look's description states: "A shiny gold-tone trim and vegan-friendly finish give these white lace-up trainers an upgrade. Wear them with jeans, dresses and every style in between. [With a] soft knit finish, gold-tone trim, rounded toe, lace-up fastening [and] flat sole."
All sizes are currently available at the time of writing, except size 7, although there is a stock checker to track a pair down in store too. For those looking for a more plain design, H&M is currently selling a pair of chunky white trainers for £17.99. It's also got a version with crochet fabric for £19.99, which one reviewer described as "comfortable and cute".
