The Hard Rock Cafe is launching a signature Lionel Messi burger, endorsed by the football legend himself.
Though any sports nutritionist would look at it in abject horror, the burger is a robust affair, to say the very least.
It features two large beef patties, and is accompanied by toppings including provolone cheese, sliced chorizo, Hard Rock Cafe’s smoky burger sauce, caramelized red onion, romaine lettuce, tomato, and is served on a brioche bun.
Should a fried egg be required, that can be added too for a small extra charge.
Said Hard Rock chief operating officer Jon Lucas: “It is an honor to take our partnership with world-renowned soccer star, Lionel Messi, and the LIVE GREATNESS campaign to the next level with his very own take on Hard Rock Cafe’s Legendary Steak Burger.
“We are excited to welcome Hard Rock and Messi fans to our turf to try the burger inspired by Messi’s very own favourites for a unique and unforgettable experience.”
The Manchester branch of the worldwide chain is on Exchange Square, in the bottom floor of the Printworks.
The burger will cost £10, without fries.
The Argentinian football icon became a brand ambassador for the restaurant chain last year, in a five-year deal set up to mark Hard Rock’s 50th anniversary.
“Sports and music are an integral part of my life, a perfect combination between my profession and my leisure time,” Messi said at the time.
“Uniting both is a great success, and I am very happy that they have counted on me for this special outcome. It is an honour to be the first athlete to partner with a brand who has a history of teaming with music legends.”
