As one year ends and another begins there’s always lots to look forward to.
One of the big exciting things is having new restaurants, bars and shops coming soon. We’ve taken a look at some of the new arrivals coming to Leeds in 2023.
There’s venues set to open in Leeds city centre and further out of town. Given December can be a busy time of the year we’ve also included a few openings from the end of 2022 - just in case you missed them.

Things in Bread
In January 2023, the Doh’hut team will be launching a new sandwich bar in Leeds city centre. It will be based in Boar Lane with lots of treats on the menu. You can enjoy delights such as a BLT on ciabatta as well as a roast chicken salad on focaccia.
Jamrock
A beloved Caribbean eatery is reopening in Leeds. After closing their Call Lane venue in May Jamrock will be launching in Kirkgate in 2023 taking up residence in a former Domino’s Pizza unit in Wade Lane.
NQ64
We’ve previously reported retro arcade bar chain NQ64 are eyeing up openings in Leeds and Sheffield. NQ64 has enjoyed great success since launching in Manchester back in 2019. It specialises in providing punters with an opportunity to play the arcade video games from their childhoods.
They also serve a host of cocktails themed around video game legends. They also have a host of Craft beers behind the bar. Andy Hagarth and Matt Robson launched NQ64 with them subsequently opening branches in London, Liverpool and Birmingham among other locations. “We have a great team that enabled us to open the first nine NQ64s in a relatively short space of time,” explained Hagarth.
“We are really excited about the next phase of growth. With the backing of Imbiba and, our new partnership with ThinCats, we are looking forward to bringing our neon splattered drinking dens to a host of new guests.”
We’ll bring you news of NQ64’s expected venture into Yorkshire when we know more.
Slung Low
After enjoying great success with The Holbeck we’ll soon see theatre company Slung Low open a second venue in Temple Arches. They’ve agreed a two-year lease in Water Lane. An old warehouse will be made into a rehearsal space and venue for independent productions.
Pretty Green
Liam Gallagher’s fashion brand Pretty Green returned to Leeds city centre towards the end of 2022. Based in King Edward Street you can get your hands on some of the finest fashions around.
Salt
A new cocktail and craft beer bar has launched in Leeds city centre. Visitors will find a selection of craft beers and cocktails on tap at the new Calls Landing venue.
The new bar, which you’ll find in the former Stew and Oyster base, will be the ninth in the Salt portfolio. Quickly following in the footsteps of one which recently opened in Oakwood.

The Ivy Asia
Based next to their sister restaurant The Ivy, in Vicar Lane, the new opening has quickly earned an army of fans since its October launch. Guests at its glitzy launch party included Leeds United footballers Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich, Emmerdale favourites Natalie Ann Jamieson, Bradley Johnson and Lawrence Robb, Coronation Street’s Clint Gordon and The Apprentice winner Sian Gabbidon among others. The menu is filled with indulgent food and drink options.
On the varied menu at The Ivy Asia, in Leeds city centre, you’ll find sushi, beef, chicken and vegetable dishes. You can pick from dumplings, skewers and seafood options. There’s lots of sharing options available with the aromatic half duck and bonsai, which includes black truffle and gold truffle rolls, pickled radish avocado tartare and shallot salsa cucumber among other delights, catching the eye. The menu is designed for a communal dining experience.
