'New and significant' information has led to the reopening of the investigation into Carol Clark's murder. Thirty years ago today (March 28) Carol, from Bristol, was found murdered at the side of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
Carol was 32 years old when she was strangled, with her neck broken and her body dumped in reeds and undergrowth in Gloucestershire. Despite extensive enquiries and reviews of the case, the murderer has remained at large three decades later.
But now, Gloucestershire Police officers, as part of the South West Major Crime Investigation Team, has received information which could finally unlock the case and bring Carol's killer to justice. Today, on the anniversary of the discovery of Carol's body, police are appealing for any more information which could help further.
