Undoubtedly, bachelor and bachelorette parties can be a source of anxiety for some people in relationships. The traditional last ‘hurrah’ of heavy drinking and blurred lines that potentially break boundaries is enough to keep them lying awake at night. When these mice come to play at her job, one Arizona bartender recalls what she has done to put them in check.

“So, I’m a bartender from Scottsville and we’re a big hot spot for bachelor and bachelorette parties,” bartender Caitlin (@caitlinbackus) says. For context, this hub is similar to Las Vegas yet more affordable. Then, she dives into her story times to more than 181,000 viewers.

What Happened At This Bachelor Party From New York?

“A month ago, this bachelor party from New York came in and there were 20 of them,” she says. “They were sitting in our bar before it got busy and these two guys specifically were talking to me.”

The man, not drinking non-alcoholic beer, was attempting to charm her and asked for her number, which she declined but in turn gave him her Instagram.

After three days, the bartender received a message from another woman. “I get a ‘Hey girly’ DM from some poor girl that says, ‘Hey. So, that’s my boyfriend. He’s a piece [expletive],” she recounts, clarifying. “Nothing happened. We followed each other.”

A New Jersey One Wasn’t Any Better

“Two weeks later, another bachelor party from New Jersey came to my work,” the content creator says. “There were so many of them but this one guy specifically was chatting me up, asking for my number.”

With the New York man incident at the forefront of her mind, Caitlin decided to ask if he had a girlfriend.

“He had a friend on each side, and they both immediately looked over him,” she says. “That’s the moment that I knew he does, in fact, have a girlfriend.”

What Did The Bartender Do?

Although he denied it, she had a trick up her sleeve to confirm it when he and his friends showed up again the following day, who attempted the same spiel. This time, she took advantage of the same man’s intoxication by gaslighting him.

“‘I thought you texted me. Are you sure?’” she recounts telling him, adding. “‘Give me your phone.’”

Once he handed the bartender his phone, she opened his message and hit the jackpot.

“The top message is a girl’s name with a heart next to it, and the last message he sends is, ‘I love you so much, baby girl,’” she remembers.

When the man confronted her about not finding her number, she retorted, “Sweetie, you have a girlfriend! I saw the messages.’”

Before wrapping up, Caitlin tried to provide reassurance. “Not all men that go on these bachelor trips are dogs but there is always one of the 15 that’s a dog,” she concludes.

The Bartender Stories Resonated with Viewers

Unfortunately, what Caitlin shared is quite common at these pre-wedding parties. A study reported by the California Post found that 70% of respondents admitted to cheating on their partners, including 33.1% receiving a lap dance, 21% kissing someone else, and 11.2% sleeping with another person. Even a woman’s then-fiancé’s bachelor trip to Iceland was considered concerning.

With that being said, many agreed across the board in the comments section on how prevalent this circumstance is.

“My relationship with my boyfriend of two years ended after a bachelor weekend. He came back a different person,” one viewer shared.

Girl I have this happen to me at 53 years old and I am not even hot like you. Why I stay single,” another remarked.

“As someone who works in Miami nightlife, the bachelor parties I have served [have] made me never want to get married. Stay safe yall,” a third stated.

“In old town all this is COMPLETELY believable. Set your boundaries, and keep being sassy,” a fourth said.

“As a guy who has been on many, this is standard, not the exception,” a fifth commented.
