Coronation Street's newest star Channique Sterling-Brown appears to have fitted right into the cast as she shared some unseen party snaps of herself alongside some of the soap favourites.
Channique, from Brighouse but split growing up between West Yorkshire and Manchester, is yet to make her TV debut on the ITV soap but has already filmed her first scenes as Dee-Dee Bailey. She is the never seen but much talked about daughter of Ed and Aggie Bailey who arrived on the street in 2019 alongside their son's Michael and James.
They were then followed by Ed's brother, Ronnie Bailey, early last year. Channique will make her debut as Dee-Dee, whose real name is Diana, before the month is out and the actress has excitedly shared the news of her arrival on social media.

Posting a string of snaps on Instagram, with the first showing her posing outside the iconic Rovers Return, Channique penned: "Nah, real talk look at what God did Well the news is finally out! Absolutely delighted to share, that I’ve joined the wonderful cast of Coronation Street as new regular Dee Dee Bailey!"
She went on: "Thank you so much to the gorgeous cast and crew of @coronationstreet who have welcomed me, especially the brilliant Bailey Family who have made me feel so at home! Big thank you to my fab agents @chmagency. Thank you to my incredible family and friends who have loved, supported and prayed me through this whirlwind process! And above all else, glory unto God, what an incredible blessing!
She ended her post: "I am sooo excited, for all that is to come and incredibly grateful for this new chapter in my career! Catch DeeDee crashing onto the cobbles, next Wednesday, 28th September cannot wait for you all to meet her!!"
In another photo Channique can be seen out with her new on-screen mum Lorna Laidlaw and on-screen brothers Nathan Graham and Ryan Russell. The foursome looked glam as they posed for a snap before another showed them enjoying a meal with Trevor Michael Georges and Vinta Morgan who play Ed and Ronnie.
And she was also among the stars who attended Corrie's swanky summer bash at The Ivy and got to hang out with many of her new co-stars who were quick to show their support on her post.
Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer Spellman in the ITV soap, said: "Woo!! The post we have been waiting forrrrr!" Max Turner actor Paddy Bever gushed: "so proud our queen." Nathan also wrote: "We love to see it!! Dee Dee has arrived!2 While Ryan added: "Ayyy! Let’s go!"
Her friends and followers were also just as chuffed. @frannyhuth said: "When AMAZING things happen to AMAZING people!!" @mo_gearing commented: "Eeek! Omg this is incredible! Can’t wait to watch you grace our screens! Weatherfield won’t know what’s hit it." @markpatersonuk added: "Maaaaate this is so epic! I am so so chuffed for you!"
Revealing what Corrie viewers can expect from the character, Channique told the Manchester Evening News and other press: "She's a bit of me! Dee-Dee's going to bring a lot of fun, a lot of chaos - but in a good way, hopefully! Dee-Dee is organised chaos, is how I describe her. She bursts into any room she's in, she's a big personality but she's really hard-working. She's a great lawyer, she knows what she's doing."
