Further images of actor Mackenzie Crook's missing sister-in-law who police say they are concerned for as she is "very vulnerable" have been released. The pictures were shared by Sussex Police amid a dashcam footage appeal.
Laurel Aldridge, 62, who was undergoing chemotherapy, left home in Walberton, near Arundel, on Tuesday (February 14) morning and has not been seen since. Images show her on the morning she disappeared wearing a turquoise fleece, maroon tartan scarf and brown hat.
Pirates of the Caribbean and The Office star Crook has joined the search party. Speaking to ITV, Crook said the disappearance of his sister-in-law, who is undergoing chemotherapy, was “very out of character”. He said extensive searches were taking place and urged people to look in their back gardens and other places where she may have sought refuge.
He added: “If I could appeal to everyone, even if they checked before, check again in likely places where she might have crept in to lay down for the night.”
Police are asking anyone who has driven in the Arun area of West Sussex since Tuesday, February 14, to check their dashcam footage for sightings of Laurel from Walberton. Officers are particularly keen for people driving in the area since Tuesday to check their dashcam footage if they have used, but not limited to, the following roads:
• The A27 in both directions between Fontwell and Arundel
• The A29 in both directions between Fontwell and Houghton
• Anyone driving in the Slindon area
• Anyone driving in the Walberton area
When reviewing the footage, if there is someone who matches Laurel’s description report it to police online or call 101 quoting Operation Accrue. Detective Sergeant Alan Fenn said: “We are continuing to pursue multiple lines of enquiry and would thank any members of the public who have provided information to us so far. We may have information which could place Laurel’s last known location.
"To be in that location it’s likely Laurel would have crossed a busy road where people would have been driving in the area at the time. I am urging people who were driving in this area or near to this area of Arun to review their dashcam footage to see if there is anyone who matches Laurel’s description.
"We have a dedicated officer who is in contact Laurel’s family and will continue to support them throughout this investigation. Please continue to look out for Laurel and call 101 with non-urgent information and 999 if this information is urgent quoting Operation Accrue.”
