Gravy and mayonnaise fans are once again divided, but this time it is over a brand new condiment that combines the two distinct flavours.
Popular brand Hellmann's recently announced a brand new trio of 'takeaway' flavours which includes the first-of-its-kind gravy flavoured mayonnaise.
Whether you choose to dip your chips into mayo or gravy has long been a debate amongst foodies, but it looks like you can now get the best of both worlds.
Unfortunately, shoppers are once again divided with some even going as far as to say that it's "the sickest combo ever."
Also included in the new line-up of flavours are coronation and chilli charger, but it's the interesting gravy mayonnaise that has attracted the most attention.
While it won't officially arrive for tasting until spring, the unique combo ruffled a few feathers after it was shared to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.
With nearly a whopping 9,000 comments, it's safe to say that Hellmann's gravy mayonnaise already has its naysayers and some unlikely fans.
"That's the sickest combination I've EVER seen", exclaimed one shopper.
"Eh?? Is this an early April fool?? Never ever heard of gravy and mayo mixed together", said a second.
"Just noooo. Gravy is gravy, mayo is mayo and that's that," said a third.
"How to ruin 2 things that are perfectly fine by themself", said a fourth.
While a fifth commented: "Can being a Mayo lover be any worse."
A sixth joked: "In the words of Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park, “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Like the age old debate itself, there were quite a few adventurous foodies that liked the sound of the new flavour and couldn't wait for it to go available.
"Omg I need this. 2 things I love, mayo and gravy", said one positive shopper.
"It's a definite YES from me", said a second.
"Oh my goodness, worth a try", commented a third.
Quite a few savvy foodies were also quick to point out that it sounded similar to a popular fast-food chains condiment - KFC's 'gravynnaise.'
"I've tried the kfc gravy mayo and it was lovely. This would be a yaaaaas from me I think" commented one shopper.
Hellmann's gravy mayonnaise and 'takeaway trio' will go available for £2.29 a bottle in supermarkets nationwide this spring.
