A new mini market is to open in Glasgow's west end next month - with a real focus on supporting the local community.
The new shop is intended to have more of a 'market' style than a regular retail shop, selling everything from gifts to homeware and baked goods to local produce, all from local and independent stockists.
The Partick spot is the brainchild of 23-year old local Jordan Trainer, who came up with the idea after opening up a pop up shop back in February, which received a wave of positive feedback from customers.

Speaking to Glasgow Live about the new mini market, Jordan said: "We got some really good feedback from the pop up market so I knew I knew I wanted to continue with the idea. The fact that it was all local and independent businesses stocked I think really helped, people do want to support local businesses.
"The high street, especially now, can be so expensive and with the mini market people can get usually much cheaper, local items on the same street as they usually shop on. It keeps the variety going as well because there's lots of stuff we're going to stock that you can usually only order online from independent retailers - it gives them a space to sell their merchandise in person and really connect it the local community."
At the end of each month the shop will be a market filled with baked goods and local produce, as well as the usual variety of products from local stockists.
The mini market, which will open on August 26 on Dumbarton Road, will be Jordan's second business venture in the area - he also owns plant shop 'Green Living' on the same street.

Jordan attributes his success to hard work and knowing what the area needs.
He added: "I've always been self employed, I love doing my own thing. I know the area and the local people really well now and I love it, I think the community will definitely benefit from having better access to local businesses."
Jordan is also looking for stockists for his new mini market, and is offering teenagers the chance to take their first real step into the business world.
Anyone aged 15-18 who wants to sell their stock in the shop can do so for free, as Jordan wants to give young people a jump start into building their own businesses locally.
He said: "I was around that age when I started and I know a lot of young people want to start their own business but don't really know how to get into it. It can be really disheartening to realise how difficult it is, trying to sell online and make your product stand out, and I want to help local teens have the chance to build something that will really last."
Anyone who would like to sell their stock in the mini market can contact Jordan via email at partickpopupmarket@gmail.com.
