GardaI have seized drugs and cash worth around €22million this year, it has been revealed.
Electric scooters used to transport drugs and tasers stored in baked beans cans have also been found by officers during searches. And 9,747 arrests have been made this year across the Dublin Metropolitan area. Around €17.5million worth of drugs and €3.9million in cash were seized.
Inspector Ken Holohan, of the Dublin Crime Response Team said his taskforce has taken part in massive seizures since it was stood up on January 26, 2023.

This includes seizures of drugs worth more than €1m and around €500,000 in cash. This includes cannabis resin and herb, MDMA, cocaine, ketamine and LSD.
Mr Holohan said: “We had a search on Saturday and we had 12 or 13 different types of drugs. They’re selling them on social media.
"Electric scooters are being used to transport drugs. We have lads in tracksuits on e-scooters running through suburban communities, transporting drugs.”
