New gaming business set to take on closed gym in Nottingham

A new gaming business is set to take over the recently closed H3 Gym in Sneinton. Hobbyspotz will open a gaming arena on the site on Longden street and work has already started on transforming the building.

Hobbyspotz already has a small venue on Lower Parliament street where they often hold gaming events. This will be their second location within the city centre as they are expanding.

The new venue will provide ample space for gaming events including miniature gaming, hobby space, and roleplaying games. Gamers will also be able to paint and assemble miniature models at the site in a well-equipped hobby space.

Alongside the gaming sessions and tournaments, the team will host classes and workshops aimed at beginners or anyone looking to learn more.

HobbySpotz co-founder, Gary Powell, said in a post on Facebook: "We are excited to bring a dedicated tabletop gaming venue to the Sneinton Market Creative Hub. Our goal is to create a community for gamers to come together and share their love of tabletop gaming in a welcoming and inclusive environment."

The venue was previously H3 Gym which relocated to Arnold at the end of last year citing difficulties with parking in the area. Jez Kearney, the owner of the gym said he felt sad to be leaving after ten years but was excited about the new location.

Work has already begun on transforming the new location which had been given a makeover in 2021 with new neon green and grey paint job. The new owners have already hosted painting and pizza parties where customers can come in to help get the interior ready to open.
