Earlier this year, it was announced that acclaimed director Sébastien Vanicek would be directing a new Evil Dead spin-off. Just a few months later, it has been revealed that another Evil Dead film is in the works, with Francis Galluppi attached to direct. Galluppi, making his feature film debut with 'The Last Stop in Yuma County' releasing on May 10, 2024, brought the idea to Sam Raimi and Ghost House Pictures.
According to Deadline, details about the plot and other production members are yet to be disclosed. Raimi, who directed the original Evil Dead trilogy and produced recent films, praised Galluppi's storytelling skills and ability to build tension.
After a decade between the releases of 'Evil Dead' in 2013 and 'Evil Dead Rise' in 2023, fans won't have to wait as long for the next installment. The upcoming spin-off is aiming for a 2025 release. Director Sébastien Vanicek, promoting his recent film 'Infested,' mentioned that he and collaborator Florent Bernard are in the early stages of crafting the story.
Vanicek expressed hope for a Halloween 2025 release for his Evil Dead film, without confirming any connections to previous installments. He aims to start filming by the end of 2024. He described his movie as one that will leave audiences tested and in discomfort.
For fans eager to watch 'Evil Dead Rise,' the film is currently available for streaming on MAX.
