A new multifunctional modern space is now open for visitors at 13-15 Ferry Road in Leith, offering vibrant exhibitions, coffee, and a creative space to enjoy for friendly gatherings, work, or hire.
Sierra Metro art gallery owners took to Facebook to share the exciting news of being all set to serve fresh coffee at its premises. They said: "The coffee bar is finally open at Sierra Metro. Catch the current exhibition whilst you wait. Open 8:30-2pm weekdays and 10-2pm weekends."
Following the modern vibe, the venue leaves plenty of room for inventiveness by not limiting its functions to serving one purpose. Sierra Metro's website reads: "It is a creative space and gallery based in Leith. A place to gather, work and connect with exhibitions, coffee, workspaces and spaces to hire, everyone is welcome."
The venue's current exhibition, SALVE, will run until April 3 and showcases photographer David James Grinly's work. With over ten years of photographic experience, David's art combines technical understanding with theoretical and philosophical insights.
Pop into the gallery to explore and contemplate on the artwork that the artist himself describes as "...theoretical rather than conceptual, theological rather than therapeutic, ethical and legal rather than logical or political, and metaphysical rather than epistemological."
On March 6, David will give a talk at the venue, reflecting on his art and creative approach and answering guests' questions. Promoting the event on social media, the Sierra Metro's representatives said: "David will be talking about his new body of work as part of SALVE, and the inspiration, references and meaning behind his works."
