New Edinburgh bar to open with 'Italian wines and cocktails' in site of former local pub

A new Edinburgh bar is set to open its doors in Leith after announcing they had taken over the site of a former pub.

'Bittersweet Leith' confirmed they will be launching their new premises in April, with works currently underway to refurbish the interior.

Formerly the home of the Steel Coulson Tap, the venue on Henderson Street had been advertised as available for renting earlier this year.

With the pub moving to a new premies elsewhere in the city, Bittersweet have taken over the lease to launch their new cocktail bar and restaurant.

Sharing a selection of sneak peaks into the new watering hole, staff said they will be offering a selection of cocktails and other beverages.

As well as a range of Italian wines, the bar will also be serving up speciality coffees throughout the day for those looking for something non-alcoholic.

A new bar has been created inside, with images also showcasing some bold and fun artwork that will be decorating the walls.

Gearing up for the grand opening, a recent post from the bar said:

"The seating area is now taking shape!
