New chicken restaurant aiming to rival Nando's set to open in Trinity Leeds

A new chicken restaurant rivalling Nando’s is set to open in Trinity Leeds.

As we’ve previously reported, Slim Chickens is opening in Leeds city centre after enjoying success in Manchester, London and Birmingham. It will be taking over the former Carluccio's restaurant in Trinity Leeds.

The American-style restaurant will be opening its doors on Thursday, July 6. The first 30 diners will be treated to a free portion of their chicken tenders, free of charge. The fried chicken restaurant specialises in fresh, homemade Southern-inspired dishes, including hand-breaded buttermilk chicken tenders, fresh Buffalo wings and a range of 15 handmade dipping sauces, as well as a variety of sandwiches, wraps, salads and sides, plus vegetarian plant-based options.

Steven Foster, Centre Director at Trinity Leeds, said: “Arriving in Leeds with flavours straight from America, with a side of southern hospitality, we’re excited to welcome Slim Chickens to our ever-evolving offering at Trinity Leeds. We know its range of Southern-inspired dishes will prove extremely popular with our guests, and we can’t wait to try it out for ourselves.”

The restaurant’s layout boasts large sports screens for guests to enjoy all the live action. The new opening can accommodate up to 100 people.

Satnam Leihal, chief executive officer at Slim Chickens, said: “Trinity Leeds is set to be a prime location for us and we’re proud to be in the heart of the city in such a stunning setting. Our food is made fresh-to-order, offering an ideal pitstop for people in the city centre, with plenty of offers available via the Slim Chickens app, including 10 per cent off for Blue Light Card holders, students, and Leeds United season ticket holders. We can’t wait to open our doors at Trinity Leeds.”
