New chicken joint Bird of Prey will bring ‘fried chicken and waffles’ to Oxford Road

A new fried chicken spot is to bring US-style ‘chicken and waffles’ to the new Circle Square development on Oxford Road. Open today, Bird of Prey will offer all-day dining from 9am through to midnight on weekends, and from 11am in the week.

The project has been devised by family members Asad, Sadaf, Saify and Saj Bukhari, who have spent years on their buttermilk fried chicken recipe, which involves overnight marinating, and double dredging through specially seasoned house flour.

They’ll be serving a signature fried chicken sandwich and chicken strips, as well as their ‘insanity wings’, which aim to be some of the hottest in the city. The breakfast menu of buttermilk fried chicken and waffles will be served on weekends from 9am to 12pm, as well as a host of other brunch items.
