New Camden Street restaurant serving high class Chinese cuisine opening on Valentine's Day

Dublin is getting a brand-new restaurant serving high class Chinese cuisine on Camden Street - and it's opening on Valentine's Day

Press Up Hospitality Group has announced its latest addition to the city in the form of Mama Yo, a Chinese restaurant that promises "traditional Chinese recipes with a contemporary twist".

Opening on February 14th (Valentine's Day), Mama Yo aims to respect the techniques, flavours, and rich history associated with diverse Chinese cuisine while adding a dose of modernity.

The menu has been created with sharing in mind and includes bite sized dishes such as tea smoked BBQ ribs, organic pork char siu bun, cheung fun, baked snow mountain bun, traditional soup dumplings, hot and sour soup, and house made pork and prawn wontons.

There is also the Beijing Roast Duck which is said to be the star of the show as a traditional dish that dates back over 1,000 years.

For mains, diners can expect familiar favourites such as beef short rib and black pepper, lemon chicken, sweet and sour organic pork with caramelised pineapple, char siu and salt and pepper tofu.

The cocktails are also expected to be a huge attraction as they're made following the five pillars of Chinese cuisine: spicy, salty, sour, sweet and bitter.

Mama Yo’s sixth and signature cocktail is the Boba Milk Punch, a unique twist on the Boba Tea craze that has swept across Dublin.

Meanwhile, the wine list was curated to specifically compliment the the bold flavours of Mama Yo’s food.

The kitchen will be manned by a team of 14 which includes Head Chef Daming Lu.

Mama Yo will be the latest addition to Dublin's food scene from hospitality group Press Up (Press Up)

General Manager of Mama Yo Kathy Li, who hails from Shenyang in China, said of the upcoming opening: "The combination of high quality, contemporary Chinese cuisine, brilliant drinks, warm service, and a dazzling venue is truly unique, and an exciting addition to Dublin’s thriving food scene.

"I envision and am certain that Mama Yo will provide any guest with an unforgettable experience."

The interior of the restaurant features dramatically lit trees, bespoke colourful art and an open kitchen running the length of the restaurant.

Bookings are available online at mamayo.ie and Open Table.
