New business opens at Bristol's Wapping Wharf neighbourhood this week

Wapping Wharf has welcomed a brand new business this week called Hue Hairdressing. The salon, which opened on Tuesday (May 23), will be the first-ever women's salon in the Cargo development since the destination first opened in 2016.

Bristol hairdresser Chloe Miller, who has been working in the city for the past ten years, is the owner of Hue Hairdressing. She has opened her own business in Cargo 2, taking over a unit in between Frankly and the former Oliver's ice cream shop.

Speaking about her new opening, Chloe said: “Hairdressing has always been what I’ve wanted to do, so opening my own space has always been the goal. Wapping Wharf is one of my favourite places in Bristol, so when this opportunity came up I couldn’t say no.

“I’ve always been passionate about creating natural, long-lasting styles for my clients, and I’m so excited to offer a space which will be a relaxing, homely experience where people can come to relax and unwind. I’m really looking forward to being part of the amazing community here at Wapping Wharf, and bringing something new to the area.”

It is the second salon in the neighbourhood after Chop Box, which offers styling and colour for both men and women. Hue Hairdressing will be offering women's haircuts and colouring services with a focus on creating low-maintenance styles that last.

Over the years Chloe has built a reputation for her long-lasting colour services, especially when it comes to creating natural-looking, lived-in blonde styles, which often means clients only need to visit once every three to four months. The salon is a cosy and calming space with chairs for two stylists.

Stuart Hatton, managing director of Umberslade, the developer behind Wapping Wharf, said: “Ever since Wapping Wharf first opened in 2016, people have asked about when we’re planning on opening a ladies' hairdressing salon, so we’re thrilled to finally welcome Chloe to the community.”

Wapping Wharf is also expecting another new arrival in the pipeline with Bristol Beer Factory preparing to take over the former Wild Beer taproom. Junction will be the brewery's fourth venue and will offer a pub classics food menu curated by Josh Eggleton.
