Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Ben Keating has thrown his support behind the new breed of GT3 machinery, arguing that building a car for the track from the ground up is the “right thing to do”.

The likes of Mercedes, Toyota and Genesis are all developing new cars specifically for GT3 racing, with the requirements of the sister road-going model becoming secondary during the design phase.
