New blow for Reeves as economy stalls close to zero in run up to Budget

Rachel Reeves was handed an unwelcome pre-Budget surprise today when official figures showed the economy stalled over the three months to September.

Latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveals the UK economy inched forward by just 0.1% in the quarter, below City expectations and the worst performance since 2023.
