After an agonizing five-year wait, Bayonetta 3 finally has a release date. Yes, it’s actually happening!
On Wednesday, Platinum Games announced that Bayonetta 3 is coming out on Oct. 28, 2022, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Naturally, the reveal came by way of a spectacular trailer showcasing loads of exciting combat maneuvers, cheeky quips from the sassy heroine, and slick new features. Most notably, Viola – the all-new playable character that’s an up-and-coming witch. From the looks of it, she’ll be able to summon beasts like an enormous spider while slashing enemies up via katana.
Check out the latest Bayonetta 3 trailer for yourself below. It’s looking even better than last year’s teaser.

After Tuesday’s Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating, most fans knew release information couldn’t be far off. Bayonetta 3 will be rated Mature, with ‘partial nudity’ contributing to that. Interestingly enough, Platinum Games added a ‘Naive Angel Mode’ that’ll lightly censor the more risqué scenes. It’s totally optional, though.
Check out a demonstration of the mode below.
Relax, the witch is back and sexier than ever🌙
We've added the revolutionary "Naive Angel Mode" to Bayonetta 3 so more people can fully enjoy it👍
By turning it on, you can play right in the living room without having to worry about what's on screen… we think😅#Bayonetta3 pic.twitter.com/SEs3vqrdYc

It’s funny, no doubt about it. However, this feature is brilliant – and I say that as someone who got awkward looks while playing Bayonetta 2 on a plane. Again, you don’t have to use it, so it’s a clever implementation.
