New B&Q prepares to open in Nottinghamshire town after almost year of construction

A new B&Q store is preparing to open in a town centre next week after months of construction and preparation come to an end. The new DIY and home improvement retailer will be opening its doors for the first time on Thursday, April 27 at the Maltings Retail Park in Newark.

The large store has been under construction since July 2022, and has created up to 30 jobs for the local area ahead of its opening. The site will have a wide range of products available for shoppers, as well as other services like home delivery and click and collect.

Speaking previously, a B&Q spokesperson said: “We look forward to opening our doors and supporting the people of Newark with all their home improvement needs.” Other B&Q stores across the county include the stores in Mansfield, Sutton in Ashfield, Worksop, Eastwood as well as Nottingham Netherfield and Nottingham Riverside.

In addition to B&Q, the retail park, which opened in 2022, is also home to a M&S food hall, Costa Coffee and Greggs. There is also several high-powered EV chargers for electric vehicles at the park which were installed at the site by Osprey Charging Network.
