New Arcade Football Game Drops Demo for Steam Next Fest

The Steam Next Fest is currently live, giving gamers a chance to try out some of the upcoming games in 2026. Next Fest is Valve’s semi-regular event where hundreds of upcoming titles offer playable demos, developer streams, and direct feedback loops, and Beat The Champions is among the sports titles taking part in this season’s celebration. There are a lot of fun sports games to try, but one of them truly stands out.

An arcade soccer game called Beat The Champions. Imagine turning EA FC into a full-blown arcade game with fast-paced gameplay; that’s what Beat The Champions is about. If you are looking for a fun soccer game to play with friends, it is definitely worth checking out. You can download the demo from Steam Next Fest.

Beat The Champions Is A Breath Of Fresh Air For The Soccer Genre

The Beat The Champions demo highlights just how different this title is compared to traditional soccer simulations. Developed by Purple Tree S R L and published by Purple Play LLC, the game is built around high-energy arcade action rather than realistic simulation play. Matches are fast, frantic, and designed to feel unpredictable.

It’s one of those games anyone can pick up and have a blast playing. It’s simple enough to have fun, but it has enough depth for soccer fans to enjoy. They have also managed to get real player licenses and have Messi on the cover, so there’s something for hardcore soccer fans to enjoy, too. In fact, Steam’s store page describes it as an experience where “legendary players clash in explosive matches powered by special abilities.”

But the best part is that the demo supports local co-op and split-screen play, making it a great game to try out when you have friends over. There are a variety of match types to keep things interesting. To put it simply, Beat The Champions isn’t trying to out-simulate the big sports games; it’s trying to out-entertain them by providing a faster and more fun experience.

The demo is timely because Steam Next Fest itself is running through early March, giving PC players a limited window to try out Beat The Champions without paying a cent. Once the festival ends, access to the demo may disappear until a wider beta or the full release.

Full details on Beat The Champions’ launch date are still pending, with developers hinting at a 2026 release ahead of the upcoming World Cup cycle, but Steam’s demo drop gives the first real chance to play and judge whether this wild, arcade-heavy take on football can make a place in such a saturated genre.
