The Apprentice's Claude Litterman had to “lay down in a dark room” after being overwhelmed by the fighting between contestants on the new series, said Karren Brady while on The One Show.
It comes as Lord Sugar’s search for a new Apprentice is about to begin, as the hit BBC reality series returns to screens. The popular series, which began in 2005, sees 18 candidates go head to head in a bid to win £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.
Appearing on The One Show on Tuesday, January 3, Karren Brady, one of Lord Sugar's aides, confessed that the arguments on the new series has been too much for Claude to handle. She said: “I know Claude said that the bickering got so bad, I saw him at the end of the very first day and he literally had to lay down in a dark room. He said it was really really bad, they were really at each other.”
Lord Sugar’s right-hand man, Claude, was replaced by Tim in last year's series of The Apprentice after a serious biking accident. In April 2021, Claude injured himself in a cycling accident, which resulted in doctors nearly amputating his right leg. The 73-year-old had to undergo nine surgeries.
Tim, who won the programme in its first series, will return for the second time as Lord Sugar's aide. Since winning the show in 2005, he has worked for Lord Sugar’s business Amstrad and set up Bright Idea Trust, a charity that helps young entrepreneurs, and runs his own digital marketing agency, Marketing Runner. He was also awarded an MBE in 2012.
The new series of The Apprentice begins on Thursday, January 5 at 9pm on BBC One.
