A permanent day of tribute to Her Majesty will likely be discussed in Parliament after a petition has gathered more than 100,000 signatures.
Royal fan, John Harris, launched a petition for an extra bank holiday to "mark our greatest sovereign’s lifetime". Writing on Change.org, he said: "The Queen is our longest-reigning monarch, and arguably the nation’s, and the world’s most popular ever monarch.
John continued: "In the words of President Macron, 'to you, she was your Queen, to us, she was THE Queen…The most constant symbol of Great Britain'. She was indeed, an inspirational woman.
