New evidence about missing Irish teen Amy Fitzpatrick has been passed on to the Spanish police.
It has come from a new witness who made contact earlier this year and their statement has been given by Irish diplomats to the homicide unit of the Guardia de Civil.
The information gives a detailed profile of the child's life on the Costa de Sol before she disappeared.

The Government is now hoping the Spanish authorities will seriously consider upgrading the investigation into the disappearance of the 15 year old into a murder enquiry.
The child vanished off the face of the earth as she walked home near Calahonda on the Costa del Sol on New Year's Day , 2008 never to be seen again.
The Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheal Martin has read all the new information and has been pushing the case with the Madrid authorities. It has also been given to the Gardai.
The person who does not wish to be identified gave a list of names of people that the child was mixing with. Some are still in Spain while others are back in Britain and Ireland.
Most of the new information is being supplied by an individual who never came forward before but knew Amy and her family and lived on the Costa de Sol at that time.
The witness is convinced the child was killed as a result of the people she began to associate with.
The witness has been told by the Spanish authorities that they are now starting to accept that they were far too quick to dismiss Amy as a missing person and should have pursued a more serious line of enquiry including murder .
An Irish Government insider said; "This information has been passed onto both the Spanish police and the Gardai. We believe it is significant and merits the case being upgraded to the murder probe.
"The homicide unit of the Guardia de Civil who are dealing with the case, know about it. We all need to get to the bottom of the reason why she disappeared."
