A new all day coffee and wine bar has opened in Spinningfields, boasting ‘wine-oke’ sessions - that’s wine and karaoke - a ‘wine jukebox’. Called Provence, it’s aiming to pitch a non-traditional approach to wine, so instead of regions and flavours, it’ll be categorising them by ‘occasion’ instead.
This will include events like ‘catch-up with friends, date night vibes, a pre-dinner treat, or a post-work pick-me-up’. The venue is set over two floors and will seat 50 inside and 16 on its outdoor terrace area.
The aforementioned ‘wine jukebox’ is a wine dispensing unit which can allow more expensive bottles not usually served by the glass to be opened and served by the glass, rather than buying the whole thing.

Food-wise, the venue will open for breakfast, and will serve charcuterie and sharing boards in the evenings. And during opening week, it will be giving away a complimentary glass of wine per customer.
The bar will also sell wines from its 80-strong collection to take out.
Anthony Ellis, founder of Provence, said: “Myself and the team have always been big wine lovers but are yet to find a venue that simplifies the experience and doesn't take itself too seriously. We want to change the way people think about wine bars and make it a fun and approachable experience for all to enjoy.
“Our team are all super friendly, knowledgeable and welcome being asked loads of questions on our menu of fantastic wines. We can't wait to get the doors open.”
Located on Hardman Street, the bar is open now.
