From Inventing Anna to Stranger Things, but their latest sports drama ‘Hustle’ is a feel-good underdog story set in the world of professional basketball..

Hustle was released on Netflix on June 3rd, the film has since received acclaim from critics, with Adam Sandler's performance receiving high praise and some of the best reviews of his career to date.

Sandler stars as an NBA scout who discovers a raw but talented player in Spain (Juancho Hernangómez) and tries to prepare him for the NBA draft.

The cast and producers are basketball heavy, with several basketball legends present on and off the court in the film.

The plot follows Stanley Sugerman played by Adam Sandler, who is an aging international scout for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA, living life on the road in search of future Basketball stars.

Stanley’s frequent travel takes a toll on his wife Teresa (played by Queen Latifah) and daughter Alex.

Robert Duval plays Rex, who is the owner of the NBA team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Stanley can’t seem to agree with Rex’s son Vince, that a prospective German player named Haas has the drive and talent to thrive in the NBA.

Team owner Rex confronts Stanley and criticises him for backing down against his son, stating that the main reason he hired him was that he always took action against what he felt was a mistake.

Regardless, Rex values Stanley’s opinions and insight so much that he promotes Stanley to assistant coach.

Sadly a few months later, Rex dies and his son Vince takes over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Adam Sandler (Stanley) embarks on a search for new talent in Spain, this is where Stanley spots Bo Cruz, a young construction worker hustling on a basketball court.

Adam Sandler’s passion for basketball is fitting for this film, he is looking for a new star who is worthy of being drafted into the NBA and he shines in the role of Stanley.

The film is a fictional underdog story filled with charm, and a stellar cast that makes for a memorable performance, while maybe even drawing in new lovers of the sport.

It’s the perfect recipe for a ‘feel good’ film.

One fan of the film took to Twitter and said: “Adam Sandler’s Hustle movie on Netflix is definitely what every NBA fan and prospect should enjoy with the plot centred on determination, hard work, talent as well as an undeniable obsession for the beautiful game of basketball.”

“The cameos, definitely a 10/10 for me.”

Another viewer shared: “One of the best sports movies I’ve seen in a while. Adam Sandler showed he’s a great actor with Uncut Gems and now Hustle, not “just” a great comedian. Cameos in the movie were sweet too. Recommend.”
