New Actors Join Horror Film Goons In Louisiana Production

YG American rapper

The upcoming horror film 'Goons' has recently added five more talented actors to its cast for the Louisiana-based project. Rapper YG, J. Alphonse Nicholson from 'P-Valley,' Serayah McNeill known for her role in 'Empire,' SteVonté Hart from 'Bel-Air,' and Tyler Lepley from 'Harlem' have all joined the ensemble. The film is being helmed by director Gerard McMurray, known for his work on 'The First Purge.'

'Goons' is currently in production in New Orleans and its surrounding areas, utilizing the eerie backdrop of the state's cane fields and plantations to set the tone for the film. The cast also includes previously announced stars such as Michael Rainey Jr. from 'Power' and Chloe Bailey from 'The Exorcism.'

McMurray expressed his excitement about the new additions to the cast, highlighting the unique qualities each actor brings to the project. He emphasized the diverse and talented nature of the young cast and eagerly anticipates sharing their work with the world.

The film is being produced by Tommy Oliver through Confluential Films under its New Fear Unlocked Productions, a genre label dedicated to creating bold, culturally specific horror films from creators of color.

Each actor is represented by various agencies, with YG repped by Independent Artist Group (IAG), Underground, and LaPolt Law; Nicholson by CESD Talent Agency, AC Management, and Jackoway Austen; McNeill by IAG, Kanika McNeill, and Hansen Jacobson; Hart by Buchwald, The Avery Agency, and Amplified; and Lepley by CAA and Artists First. McMurray is represented by WME, Artists First, and Gang Tyre, while Oliver and Confluential are repped by CAA and The BALA Firm.
