The upcoming horror film 'Goons' has recently added five more talented actors to its cast for the Louisiana-based project. Rapper YG, J. Alphonse Nicholson from 'P-Valley,' Serayah McNeill known for her role in 'Empire,' SteVonté Hart from 'Bel-Air,' and Tyler Lepley from 'Harlem' have all joined the ensemble. The film is being helmed by director Gerard McMurray, known for his work on 'The First Purge.'
'Goons' is currently in production in New Orleans and its surrounding areas, utilizing the eerie backdrop of the state's cane fields and plantations to set the tone for the film. The cast also includes previously announced stars such as Michael Rainey Jr. from 'Power' and Chloe Bailey from 'The Exorcism.'
McMurray expressed his excitement about the new additions to the cast, highlighting the unique qualities each actor brings to the project. He emphasized the diverse and talented nature of the young cast and eagerly anticipates sharing their work with the world.
The film is being produced by Tommy Oliver through Confluential Films under its New Fear Unlocked Productions, a genre label dedicated to creating bold, culturally specific horror films from creators of color.
