It is time once again to put the fate of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the hands of the algorithm and see where it leads us. We ran a full seven-round mock draft in a draft simulator and let it make all the picks. Let’s see what went right and what went wrong for Pittsburgh.
First round - S Brian Branch, Alabama
Second round - OT Anton Harrison, Oklahoma
Second round - DT Siaki Ika, Baylor
Third round - CB Tyrique Stevenson, Miami
Fourth round - C Ricky Stromberg, Arkansas
Seventh round - EDGE Ikenna Enechukw, Rice
Seventh round - WR Demario Douglas, Liberty
Overall
Typically I am highly critical of these draft simulations but it’s hard to argue against this one. Brian Branch, Anton Harrison and Siaki Ika are year-one contributors and Tyrique Stevenson is a great developmental cornerback. Can’t fault the sim for giving the Steelers Ricky Stromberg when Pittsburgh just signed Isaac Seumalo the night before. Overall there isn’t a bad pick in this group and it would be a draft Pittsburgh could really build from.
